"NP435 4 spd. trans. Removed from late 70's Ramcharger. (parted it out due to rust). $75 + shipping."
The guy says its a granny low gear, but I hear that some vehicles had a higher ratio than others. Should I get this one? Is it for sure the 6.68 or whatever gear? Will this version be harder to adapt to a 4.0/D300? Also, how much does it weigh so I can calculate shipping? Thanks guys.

the 435 had the 6.68 granny gear and have a tag on the side that Identifies them as a 435. the one with the higher gear is a 445 and should have a tag that identifies it as well. The tag is between two of the bolts that hold the PTO cover on. I think the 445 was only used in 2wd trucks.

actually the 435 was made in a 7.49 I belive I know 7.something. It was offered in the Ford's though, I think the dodge's had the lower 6.69 first

Here are some specs for the NP435 and close friends: There was nothing lower than the 6.69:1 low gear for any model. There were at least 4 different ratios available for the NP435. I have a big list of 161 trannies and their ratios too if you'd like to see it.

NP435 (H) 4.78/2.39/1.37/1.00/ Chrysler
NP435A (H) 4.56/2.28/1.31/1.00/5.64 R GM '63-72, Chrysler '63-85
NP435D (H) 4.90/2.29/1.19/1.00/6.06R GM '63-72
NP435E (H) 6.68/3.34/1.74/1.00/8.26 R Ford '64-85
NP435L (H) 6.68/3.34/1.66/1.00/8.26 R Ford '64-85, GM '64-72, Chrysler '63-85, IHC '64-85-T17/T18
NP4500 (H) 6.69/3.34/1.66/1.00/5.96 R IHC '70-78(all synchro)-T425
NP4500 (H) 4.56/2.28/1.31/1.00/5.65R Chrysler '70-79 (all synchro)(also called NP445)
NP4500 (H) 4.56/2.28/1.31/1.00/4.07 R GM '67-72

Also, I could be wrong about this (Jefe correct me if I'm wrong), but don't the dodge 435s have a differnt pattern? So if you want one that bolts to the T150/176 bell housing I think you better stick to Ford.
