okay here's what happened maybe someone here can help. My wife and I moved (drove) from Utah to Florida. Me in my neon and her in her Sammi. In Tenessee the sammi decided to break a connecting rod, I suppose it may have just been bored with all the non rock driving. So I drive down to Fla with her and my brother takes her back the Tenesee to tow the sad sammi here. She's going to need to either A: Rebuild the motor (provided the connecting rods didn't damage the cylinder wall too bad) or B: replace the engine. I grabbed a copy of the Auto Trader here locally (In Miami now) and I found like 9 sammis for sale in varying conditions. I made some calls and talked to this one fella who has a 1.8l toyota engine/tranny (cant recall what kind of car) that he tells me all you need to do is fabricate a new short shaft from the tranny to the xfer case and fabricate motor mounts. My question is is that as easy as it sounds? or can someone close give me a good deal on say a block with pistons?
