Here's the scenario: Jeep 2A with stock frame and Ford 302 motor. Just completed narrow track 30 swap with 44 knuckles and high steer arms. Put it all together and went to start up the Jeep to test the steering. God awful sound and sparks from underneath as the tie rod hit the bottom pulley of the motor with the weight of the Jeep on the tires. I am still SUA but plan on going 1" Superlift Wrangler springs. Will that make the difference I need from clearance? Any other suggestions as I am dead in the water until I can get some clearance under there. Thanks

I can't put the tie rod under as it is tapered for over the arms. I went ahead with the high steer at the time as I was pulling the axles out and installing a locker so I figured I would do that while it was all apart. I guess I should of did the SOA at the same time.

Sounds like you probably need new hi steer arms or drill out the taper and go with heims (to get the tie rod under the arms).

Can't you mount the tierod back on the stock arm? Do this until you do a SOA.

Might also want to consider a Waggoneer type set-up with the tierod connecting into the drap link away from th knuckle.
