I've read somewhere that some guys have made their own 4:1 (or whatevever) for Dana 300's by using bits from two 300s. My question is has anyone tried this with a 205? Can it be done? All I seem to find is "do a 203/205 doubler..."
Sometime open up a 205 range box. You'll find that there isnt much room at all for bigger gears. I think someone tried it and ended up with 2.5:1.. not worth it, although i do hear of a sompany comming out with 3:1 gears. Probabally one way that woudl be intresting though, is to use the planitarys off of a 241, and somehow get them to work in the range box, or just use the 241 range section insted of the 205 section, and put 4:1 gears in there. But that is basically what a klune V is, and by the time you spend all that time and $$$, you would have been better off with a 203/205 doubbler, and probabally woudl be in it alot less money.
