any of you guys know of aftermarket hoods or hoodscoops that will fit on an 86 style 4runner?? i'll be running a supercharger somewhat soon (next 2 years) and i'd like to get a scoop before i paint the truck. do any of you guys about this and can help me out. i'm not looking for anything huge, something like the new factory hood would be cool.

i want to do the same thing, except i figured id do it a a 'glass hood to save some weight and jsut be cool but i know thru summit you can order a variety of scoops you could graft on, or withe a little engineering, you could cut out the scoop from the hood, REVERSE it on the hood and weld it back on.....just my .02

what i'm thinking, i was just wondering if there was a prefabbed hood with the scoop. i'll check out summit and see what they've got. i'm learning how to 'glass, so maybe that's my first project .

I just designed and made my own from fiberglass. All the ones I could find were either too large or too small for me to use. I needed something that came about 8" above the hood but the only thing available that size were the huge (40"+ long) aero scoops.

maybe i'll just do that...cut a hole and glass a bulge and vent over the hole. that's a good idea, and why i did not consider it first, i do not know.

Check various hotrod/racecar sights, JCW might have something.

I built one to keep my 350 cool, its really low profile, but goes to show they are easy to build!
