doesnt look like it has a CARB stamp on it........will it pass anyhow? it has the 02 port.....can i get a CARB sticker from someone? or do i even need to worry........thanks

I wouldn't worry too much about it. When I used to take my mustang in all they ever looked for was PCV, EGR, and cats. I had headers, supercharger and a bunch of other crap...hell my cats were even gutted. From my experience, if your vehicle is running good, they way it sould be...you won't have any problems passing SMOG.

Find a place where they don't care about the visual inspection part ... as long as it pass the clean air emission inspection, aka "THE WOND"
But it does help to have a CARB sticker, look on the header somewhere, there should be a CARB plate with a CARB # tack welded onto the header ... good luck <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

Oh yeah, one more thing. I usually reccomend that people take it into a real garage to have the SMOG done and not one of those $19.95 smog shack places. A real garage will usually do a pretest and most places will even tweak on it a little and not charge you any extra. So it may cost $50 but if you are going to fail they find out when they do the pretest and you don't get tagged as a gross poluter(sp). Those little rinky dink places just have some minimum wage idiot throw it on the scope and then when it fails that want $150 to "fix" the problem and you end up taking it to a referee because you got popped for being too bad.

Not True here, our "rinky dinks" are owner/operator shops that will prechech for $15-20 price. Got to watch those "blanket" statements of yours <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> maybe in a biger city there are alot of ripoff guys, not here.

alright, thanks guys. yeah i'm gona do a pretest cause of the header, cam, and tweaked EFI system. supposedly noone will "tweak" cause they loose their liscence or sumthin......i just want it passed.

speaking of heddman hedders, how do you like yours, and what exahust setup are you runnig with it? i'm thinking of getting one and i'm too poor to get anything else <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

The best smog places I have gone to are the rinky dink ones. I went to a really good one where the smog tech would even let me adjust my carb and timing on the manual scope mode so it would meet specs before he tested it. All he charged me for was the test and license. Unforunately the mechanic had a heart attack and passed away. I found another one that will run a pretest first, let me fix the problem, pretest it again, and only charge for the first pretest. When all is good he runs the real test, and BAM, I'm smog free for 2 more years! You will get raped if you go to one of those smog inspection repair chains. They are in buisness to get your money! <IMG SRC="smilies/skull.gif" border="0">

Hmmm, here wher I wive, get it to pass the first time, and then BAMB, never have to get tested again, as long as U own it! <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Gotta love TN. No smog check unless you live in the city limits. But I do, so...

I pulled my #3 fuel injector (unplug the wiring connector) and it went from 200% of the limit in NOX to 10% of it!

Amazing what pumping clean air into the exhaust by 25% volume will do. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"></font>
