Here in Pa. It depends on if it is registered as a truck or a station Wagon.

CJ= truck
Yj= staion wagon
Tj= station wagon
xj= station wagon
f 150 truck
minivan= station wagon.

station wagons can only have the bumpers 22inches off the ground. But and this is the kicker. If it is original equiptment and is higher than 22 inches you are permitted????

this state is confused?

The new ford expidition is way too high. because its a station wagon. ?????

Told you this state is confused?
But thanks to the expidition, The laws are getting changed. and the bumper height is going up.
To the same as a truck which is some part of the bumpers must be at 30 inches. And that counts the drop part for a trailer hitch. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

CJs are staion wagons, look at the plate and title. Also I always thought that the staion wagons were 27" I known the trucks are 30"

Also here in the great common wealth of PA you dear not have any of your tire hanging out. Most of the time they will measure everything for the 30" bumpers and will let a little tire hang, unless you pissed them off. And don't forget the mudflaps.
