I have been bookmarking post that pertain to my Jeep build up only to fine now when I try to access them they no longer exist. <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0"> I didn't know that older post were deleted. So, how long is a post kept?
until the server crashes and lances cleans house is my guess. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> they should be kept for ever but i have a feeling that when we moved the site to our own server lance did some maintance and deleted alot of the really old stuff.
I don't trust anyone's server , including my own, to safely store good info.
So a long time ago I created a folder called "Jeep Stuff" and sub folders such as Axels and that one has sub folders also ... i/e. D44, 60s, D30, etc,..
I either cut and past a post onto Note Pad and save it for storage or sometimes I save the entire thread.
These stay on my hard drive and that is backed up to a JAZ ...
This same directiory has been transfered to each new computer over the past five or so years.
I'd hate to loose all the reading, research and work put into learning more 'Jeep stuff'.
I still have five year old words of wisdom from Parts Mike when he actually did answer a question now and again about what would fit what ... <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
