How much are the Detroit Lockers for the rear of 84-85 4runners? I believe they are 8" rears.

and on a side note, how are the on road performance of them. Are they worth putting into a daily driver. I am only looking at them as a cheaper alternative than the ARB. I am addicted to my TRD electric locker now.

detroit soft lockers for the toy 8" are $430 from 4wpw. i have a soft locker in the back of my toy and i sometimes drive it to work 50 mi. each way. i dont even notice it back there unless i really gun it doing a u-turn.
i will get the ocasional click or bang from it though, but has only happened about three times in the year ive had it. they are well behaved lockers.

road manners are acceptable, I put about 50 miles a day on the truck. the little wiggle when shifting is lettin' ya know it's there, and the rare BANG that come from it when your turning tight in a parking lot just gets peoples attention! i've had two people walk up and ask about the truck when i got out! there fool proof, don't require o-rings to seal, nor an air supply to activate'm. i'm a firm believer in the KISS principle, Murf's always with me! they can be a bitch in ice though, not like ya see that in PA!!

All-Pro Off Road has the cheapest place I have found for Detroits at $399 each. You could always run a e-locker in the back you know, but it will cost you closer to $700.

invoice w/ shipping and all on the one I just got from APOR was $414. FWIW, the front and rear 84-85 diffs are the same.
