How Much Body Damage

Big Rich,

What is limit for body damage? Take this for example, aside from moving the filler, the panel has been pushed in about 4 inches. The damage is entirely cosmetic, the doors still close, the tail gate closes, the roof still seals, and the lights still work.

If body damage is going to be the norm in future events where will the line in the sand be drawn? Or will you be changing the class to Jeep stock mod? I hope that the class won't be restricted to pretty rigs.

I'd guess the intention here is, they don't want a rig showing up with body panels flappin in the wind ready to fall off that could be dangerous to people. Or have that same rig practicing leprosy along the course.

I also imagine it's about structural integrity of a cab on a truck for example.

It's all about INTENT - but what is the intent?

My Scout looks like Joe's and I would still bet my Scout is structurally more sound than alot of 'pretty' vehicles on the trail. But it looks like crap! If I ran comp's there is no way I would want to be forced to repair the sheetmetal all the time just to keep up with a rule for asthetics. Now if the rule is intended to achieve another purpose I am all for listening to it.
