Running without shocks will destroy the suspension components you just bought. I would not do that. Shocks are friggin cheap, you can get some Doetschtech ones in nearly any size you'd need for $25 a shock, or save for ranchos when they have their buy 3 get 1 free deal. You can check exactly how big you can go before changing your shock by taking 1 from the front and 1 from the rear off. Then measure it's collapsed length and extended length. Put the shock back on and see how much extension you have left.
