I have a guy whos trying to sell me his 2000 Tahoe LS with 62,000 miles on it. I like them but I have heard multiple horror stories regarding bad transmissions, engine replacements and so on.

Someone fill me in?

Google is a PITA for a question like this. Go over to ls1truck.com, performancetrucks.net, and fullsizechevy.com and ask. I don't know if you saw my original post, but the engine problems might be intake gaskets, fuel pressure regulator, water pump gaskets, and knock sensors. All easy fixes. Do maintenance on the trans, add a Corvette servo, cooler and temp gauge and it should last a while too.
