Im asking for a friend.. I have no idea and im not there in person ( he called me).. so I was just curious if anyone could tell me how to pull the steering wheel off?

take the horn button off anf remove the bolts underneath....or something like that....

Yeah, if it's the same as my '89 pull off the horn cover thing. Take off the horn. Remove the bolts. You will most likely have to use a steering wheel puller to pull the wheel off too. This is coming from memory of about 2 yrs ago, so I hope it's right.

He also asked me if he could unbolt the steering rod from the box and pull it all the way thru? Or does the rod need to be unbolted from the top?

Remove horn cover, there is a 15mm nut (i think). the use a puller. takes about 2 min.

If you're going past that, you'll need something called a "horseshoe" , two small flathead screwdrivers, and patience.

After you remove the steering wheel, remove the dust cap, put the horse shoe on, tighten it down. The ring you are removing is a PITA. You'll see what I mean when you get there.
