How to ship a buggy east coast to west coast

989 Views 16 Replies 12 Participants Last post by  TheRamChargerMan
I have some interest in my comp buggy. I few people have asked about shipping to the out west. Has any body done this with a buggy? I have asked some car transport companys and they don't understand so they say nope.
Any ideas on cost and who does this?

I might be off on this but I think I heard one of the guys at mad4wd would know. My buddy has been looking into it to get out trucks shipped out to moab and back then we would fly out.
Again I am not sure about this and might be wrong but it does not hurt to give them a call.
I would think any company that can ship a full size truck should be able to ship what you have with no problem.
most of them require you to go in a covered trailer...which jacks up the cost....
you pay for the flatbed rental, fuel, and $100 for food and ill drive it out there. no charge for the return trip.

im serious, PM me
Dam you don't eat much do ya  That trip would cost me atleast twice that much in food :D
That's actually a pretty good deal. Don't plan on getting any commercial company or trucker to do it for less than 600...likely much more.
Maybe CJ will chime in here. I believe he sent this rig to the west coast, from Richmond.

If its on a truck as freight why should these hauler really care? Id say it was a 'dune buggy' so they got the general idea... Or say its a jeep and slap any old tag on it... ? If it doenst roll that might be different...

The buyer arranged all the shipping onn mine. It went from Richmond to Truckee for $1600. They specialize in moving odd ball stuff like race cars, boats and trailers. I think he got hooked up through ebay. Yeah the trailer was pimp, you could get a lowrider on it.

So what's the issue ?? There was nothing said that was not readily viewable in his profile.

This is not the 1st time I have seen you post like this. Why is it such an issue ??

If someone really wanted info on him (or anyone), you can find out a lot more than that by just doing some research on the internet.

Flame me all you want, I don't give a crap, but I see nothing wrong with the post, and I am asking you to enlighten me as to the problem.

That's entirely possible......so slap me...I deserve it.

I just fail to see why some people make such a big deal about it. if they are worried about it, stay off the 'net and live in a cave.
