Blew up something in the front end today playing in the new snow....

So I am looking for a good source for a hub nut socket...

Any ideas?...found one at roverparts.com, but struck out at NAPA.

I know I can use a channel-lock, fab my own, etc....but I just feel like walking in somewhere and buying one...

Any old socket will do

As long as it's 2 1/16 "

I've seen lots that have been chisled on and off too, not a good suggestion

It's the same as a Dana 44 hub scoket for a Jeep or Scout , so you can get them anywere! J.C. Shitney has them for 9.00 or check your local 4wd shop.

Happens to also be the same size as a hotwater cylinder socket [54mm I think from memory] - got ours from the local plumbing supplies....:D

i chisel them on and off, gently. no damage done but i am careful. besides, they dont have to be so tight that you need a wrench to tighten them down. oh yeah and i am cheap so i will continue to use this method until someone gives me their tool for free:D

Thanks all...

JCshippingcosts wanted more to ship the socket than it cost!

I ended up finding a 2 1/16" socket for a jeep on ebay...

Bodgerover - yes the conversion is 54mm...not sure that would be the same in the US...but next time I'll keep that in mind.

Thanks

Dave
