Please keep in mind we will keep all the submissions from this month and use them for each of the following months. There were a couple of people that sent in more than one email.

I don't have an answer for that. I can't put a lot of time into this and I don't have a way to automate this at this time. In the future I hope to have a online data base, that people could see. The simple fact is I don't have the time to do something complicated right now. We are backlogged at the shop and I can't justify spending time on this when it means others orders will be delayd.

I will help if I can... if it is just a matter of expending the time. I know some MySQL and PHP if you want to put it into a database (assuming you have access, if not I have a limited amount of space I might be able to use... or just slap it into excel. Just to take the load off or whatever. Don't mind being disqualified either (for helping out).

I use MS Front Page to write the All Pro web page and it has a small simple to use data base included but it won't work with out special extensions on the server. I just bought XP pro OS for the web server and it has the needed extensions, but the XP web server IIS software failed to handle the load of our web traffic when I tested it this morning. With only 10 uses it starts refusing new connections.

Right now I sure don't think much of Windows XP.

Hey Chris. I'm changing ISP's. Right how I'm running both so it doesn't matter. Can we "update" the contest list?

That's the Pro limitation, you need whatever they are calling the server version in XP to get unlimited connections.

If Bill Gates had a nickel for every time Windows crashed... oh, wait, he does!

Windows 2002 Server (XP is Microsoft-speak for client code, not server versions) won't be out for a bit, but Windows 2000 Server should do you fine.

The solution to the "multiple" email problem needs to be simple, so I'd suggest the following: If you're using Outlook, use the rules wizard to move all mail with your specified subject line to a folder and auto-reply, so everyone who enters legitimately knows they've entered. Once Camo gives you a number, find that entry in the list. Before you notify them though, sort the messages by sender (just click on the "From" column header). If the "winner" appears more than once, delete all his entries, re-sort by date/time, and have Camo pick another number. It's not foolproof, but it'll keep the idiots and boneheads from getting free stuff, and that's about all you can do, anyway.

Now, wouldn't it be funny if some IFS drivin' newbie, whose only post was inquired about what header to put on his CA-registered v6 mall runner, won the thing? maybe Camo would could present the prize personally! <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Yep this is basily how it's done now, adding the auto reply is a great idea so people can see they are in. We have just switched to a new mail server this week and now I can add a seprate email address just for the contest.

Windows 2000 uses the same IIS web server as XP. There are two versions of XP the home and pro versions. I have been working with the pro version and have it upto 40 connections, that's better than the 10 I had this morning. Still I can handle 100 connections with Win 98 and a free web server!
I am thinking the CPU speed of the computer limits the number of connections allowed.
