My buddy has an old IH backhoe that needs some b6 hytran oil. What kinda oil is that?

Also if we scavange it for parts should we use the b6 oil or what ever our powersteering pump takes?

its probably a combo oil (one that works for hydraulics and transmissions)

I would just go to napa and get some aw32 hydraulic oil it might not be EXACTLY what the hytran is but it should work no prob

and for power steering I would stick with power steering fluid (it has a higher flash point)

Is the tranny a powershift type (no foot clutch) or a manual?

If it is a powershift, then the oil they reccomend probably has friction enablers to help the clutch dics grab. Normal hydraulic oil has friction inhibitors to try & eliminate friction of any type.

If you use the steering parts, then I woould suggest using a good (NOT NAPA) hydraulic oil.
