The front is narrowed 2" per side to allow full lock to lock steering. I also cut about 4" (I think) off the front of the frame.
I did not narrow the rear. I did cut at least 5" off the rear.
I think the LJ wheelbase is about perfect. Especially after driving Dustin and Becca's silver LJ and trying to follow my brother in laws LJ on the trail. Daveys had 2 wrecked LJ frames so I decided to start there. If he only had TJ frames, I would of stretched a TJ frame instead.
Than you. By the time I build the front fenders, I think the spacing should be similar. I cut out some pretty big openings. I don't want "comp cut." I prefer that it looks somewhat like a factory body.
It is short. I made the door openings so I can fit a CJ 7 soft door (that is bent to fit the tub). The tub is "channeled" to use a hot rod term. I am trying to make an old Willy's a little more comfortable. Especially for legroom and getting in and out.

Looking good! What alloy is the .125" AL? Is it just three bends to get that curve? If you look close, is there any cracking in the bends? I guess you have a heavy duty brake. I have a 4' brake that works good on 6061-T6 .032", but I don't know if it would even handle .065".
Edit, I just noticed the red floor. LOL. Will that just sweep up?

No cracks, it is 6061. If you look at the picture, the huge green press behind the cage is what we used. I don't know the specs but it is used to bend boom tubes for 50 ton wreckers.
I used acrylic enamel with hardener. No, it doesn't sweep up:shaking: That's why I paint at my dads garage:laughing:
