I just got a 89 4runner, I like it, but it doesnt go slow enough off road.

could I swap a Tcase form a sammy in right behind the stock tcase, and use the original only for its low range function?

the rear axle appears to dump on teh same side, and surely the rear driveshaft would be long enough the sami Tcase is a tiny thing, I guess the only caveat would be is it strong enough?

tell me itll work, or tell me its a stupid idea, either way!

this wont work. your front drive line will hit the first t-case. for all the work youd go thro id do a marlin,AA or inchworm double
t-case

!st the rear driveline on your toy is centered, why you think it is offset????????

there is already AA, inchworm, marlin, makers of duals so you can just "bolt in" another case, or gear sets so you don't need to modify shafts at all

sorry ozarkjeep but it's a stupid idea.....I have had the sami tcase apart and talk about a wimpy front output shaft.... it's about the same size as your little finger but it's not obvious until you take the case apart. So that's a no go on a heavier Yota application.

I meant front axle offset was the same, obviously the rear is centered ( or close enough)

Im not spending $$$ on the kits cause I dont have it.

I can get ahold of sami tcases for almost nothing, that was my main consideration.

I was curious about the strength, if its too weak then thats no good, I had not considered the front driveshaft clearence.

hmmm, any other Divorced tcases that are small ebough to fit, but strong enough?
np205 is too large right?

Do a search. dual toy cases KILLER!!!
Is the sammi so frikin small of a case that5 you expected it to bolt on without any sort of an adapter plate? This sounded to me like "i can just throw on a sami case on the back"
Welcome to the toy board BTW

a sami tcase is a one hand job, really small, and the input/output flanges are similar to the yota, round wth 4 holes.

it would be no trouble at all to bolt one directly to the toys output.

but oh well, I guess Ill just be like a sheep and buy what everyone thinks I should.

yeah right...

thanks for the helpful insight, and other avice too.
