I'm jealous

I wanna get one, but I can only swing around $300, so I'm not sure what's out there. I was looking at the Lincoln Weldpak 100....As long as it can handle making a bumper, and odd jobs, I'll be happy.

Good choice. After I bought mine I was worried I spent to much money and should have gotten the cheaper 110 unit. Now I am glad I got what I did. Welds almost anything. Make sure to tighten the set screw on the gun attachment good. Mine came loose and kept kinking the wire. Get the big bottle of argon/CO2 mix. I started out with the small 20 pound and was pissed everytime it ran out. If you don't already have one get an auto darkening helmet. Worth every penny. I have over $1200 in the welding setup that was supposed to be $600. Oh well. Puts a smile on my face everytime I get to use it.

I'll second this. i bought a cheap one ($85) off eBay and just love it. definitely worth the investment. makes welding so much simpler when you're not flipping the helment up and down all the time.

Just ordered mine tonight, any idea on how long shiping takes on these bad boys?

So excited to have a real welder as opposed to the 110 deals.

Are the millers on sale now or are thay cheep all the time? tell us how long it takes to ship and what you think of the welder and costamer service. Thanks for the info.

i bought the lincoln weldpak 100. it isn't as powerful as i'd like but it is very handy and welds up to 1/4" decently. my steering gearbox ripped itself off the frame last week
(i had an interesting drive home) and i just welded some steel plate to rebuild the frame it worked pretty sweet i just didn't have 600 bucks to spend on a welder

LOL, yeah Randy's a cool guy, really laid back. He's one street over from me. He told me he knew you. I don't know if you've ever met Mike (older guy in his 60's). He lives right across the alley, always picking up something new to sell. Right now he has a 2wd late 70's stepside Chevy in great shape. He just got rid of a sweet 68 Malibu...Cool having some "car guys" around.

That's a pretty good price. I have been trying to find a good used 220 Mig and just having no luck. I got what sounds like a Miller 250xl I need to call about. they are asking $750. I'm about ready just to order that 175 like you got.
