We would just swap pulleys if you get another ford pump or go with a chevy pump. I know I can get the puller for a chevy but don't know if they are the same on a ford. The only difference on a hydro type pump is there are usually two return lines to the pump so and the can, can be changed real easy. I wonder what a replacement powerstroke pump goes for?

Got a used "winston cup" racing parts place near ya? You can get a WC type pump cheap and they work, buddy of mine has one on his cj8 with 2.5 ton militarys and 39.5/18/15 boggers, running off a bronco ifs steering box, sitting still you can turn it with one hand. Being that they run ford and gm heads, you casn get mounts for either cheap too, I think he paid about 100.00 for the pump and can.

From the Early Bronco list I am on, everyone says the 92 F250 pump puts out a bit more pressure than a car pump, and will bolt on to the serpentine setup. That said, its still not a saginaw.

RIGHT AWN!
Thanks for the help.
I just called the Napa store in Roseville, and they had one in stock. Its for an 80 Chevy 1 ton, deisel with hydro-boost. It was $79.00, but $35 for the core. I told him I d pick it up in the morning.
The guys at AGR said that, an 85 Ford Econoline van with a 351 Windsor, will have a direct bolt on mount that will except the air compressor and all. He said Ford still sells em, if the junk yards turn up nothing. Says they are about $85 new.
1st I will try to adapt the bracketry on my current junk, i dont think it'll be that tough to do. I am about a bracket making genius.
Thanks for the help, It almost makes me feel baddly about the fact that Im gonna have to whoop up on some of ya'll at the Cal Rocks event using technology that you furnished me with
Damn I should watch what Im saying, Im still gonna need some of your "magic" worked on the gearbox, and hydraulic ram. Ah screw it.

I should be around this weekend and bet that we could make it fit. I have a lathe, milling machine, a big welder, and I am not afraid to use them.

I had similar problems on my Scout when I had it, and tried everything your trying and it all helped a little. By FAR the biggest improvement was $5...as a last ditch effort I put a 1 inch shorter pitman on from a boneyard, everything still turned well and it went from a PITA to sweet ass, honest it was like magic, that added reduction did the trick in a big way! If you get desperate give it a try.
