Dropped the pan for a fluid/filter change last night and found a part laying in the bottom. I have no friggin clue where it came from or what it does. or if its even from this tranny or was just something random that was left in there last time someone was in it.

its some kind of little plastic plunger/plug. heres a drawing.

overall length is 1.553, with an OD of .75 and a .774 diam seal on the button head.

anyone got any friggin ideas??

Dipstick tube plug

Hey I read that the little plastic plug is just from the dipstick tube for assy.
Been reading up on AOD performance stuff and came across that info.
The piece I read said to just throw it away.
Hope that helps

ya sceep, toss it away.
what that is, is the factory plug, that they put in the dipstick tube, and when they put the dipstick in, it pushes it to the bottom.
cheers!

I've seen the plug still in there on trannys that had obviously been serviced... Probably the last guy hadn't a clue what it was, so, when they couldn't figure it out, thet just stuck it back in the pan and put things back together.... LOL
