t that look a little painful..
As far as the exhaust goes - mine was the same as yours and I kept cutting it shorter and shorter - in the end I cut it off by the last support mount and welded a bend on to bring it out behind the rear wheel in much the same position as a D90. I have thrown the last silencer in the bin for that westie exhaust note [although if you get on well with your neighbours you might not want to go there].
No probs crushing it since then - and no fumes....
