Did you replace the U-joint in the center of the front end? There is a bearing on the passenger side of the third member, you may want to check it and the surface of the axle. Your back lash should be set at 6 to 12 thousandths. Also check the spindle bearings, I see TTB front ends beat the piss out of them all the time, other than that good luck.

no nothing heats up. And not the wheels as
every thing is fine when in 2 wheel drive.

also if the hubs are locked in but not the
transfer case every thing is ok

also if the transfer case is engaged but the
hubs are not then every thing is ok.

IT might very well be the bearing that is
in the pumpkin.

BUT I would think that if the bearing was bad
the seal would also be bad and I would have a
leak ?

Can you describe the vibration to some detail?
Is it an audible hum when under power? or more of a shake? Grind?

A ring & pinion problem would make a nice hum.

The axle support bearing is a straight roller type. I wouldn't think its common to have problems with this bearing unless something else damages it (metal from a toasted ring & pinion, etc.).
You would be able to feel roughness here when you rotate the shaft by hand.

As for lockers, there are only two offered last I checked. Fortunately one is the ARB. The other is Lockright.

defanately not a hum more like a growl
and you can feal the vibration in the flore
but not in the stearing.

I changed the oil to a heavyer weight oil
didnt help.

old oil looked ok no metal in oil.

hopenig to start working on this next weak

Any idea how long it takes to open it all up ?
and will I need to remove bothe spindles ?

Yes, it comes apart like most axles, for the most part.
You have to take off the wheels/locking hubs/calipers/rotors/spindles, pull out the axleshafts (passengerside shaft comes apart at the slip-joint), then pull the pig off the axlebeam.

Have you checked the transfer case? maybe something didn't go together right when it was rebuilt?
