Well I really want a Charged V6 extended cab, found a couple for around 15 - 18k

I really want an electric locker, but is the TRD package worth it or buy used locker and install??

can you get an auto with the Charger, if so will it hold up?

I found a 97 Taco with 48k on it I think I can get for 12-13k
its in good shape, but has an auto (which would be ok if I new if it would have enough power without the charger, otherwise I want standard)

this truck will remain pretty much stock, for a daily driver, cause I already got a jeep (they wheel better anyway <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0"> )

so any help here? what would the hp and torque ratings for a 97 3.4 6?

I got one for sale. Asking $18000. Check it out in the for sale section or here.

Can even sell you the 33" Dirt grips if you want.

I beg to differ! A Toyota will out wheel a Jeep anyday!! That is a fact!! The Tacoma won the ultimate 4 wheeler award in 4 Wheel and Off Road magazine. It beat a Jeep and a Hummer.

neither the hummer or taco are gonna go anywhere near the places i take my rig. that whole comparesion is a joke if you are talking about real trail rigs, which neither the taco or hummer are even remotly close. i assure you most of the jeeps owned by members of this BB will out wheel any taco.

tacos are great daily drivers but a very odd choice for a trail rig.

I think they're a great choice. Just a little on the expensive side. Will surely keep me trying to keep it wheels down too.

Get the electric locker in the truck already. It's worth the cash. The used electric lockers are hard to come by and expensive. They do have an ARB for the rear though now. I'll have mine completely installed tomorrow!

You can't do that w/o swapping out the entire rear axle. The open diffed taco comes w/ an 8.4" (8.25") axle, the electric locking one is an 8". An ARB would probably be a cheaper alternative in this case.

The stock #'s for a 3.4 are 190HP @ 4800RPM and 220ft/lbs @ 3600. I think supercharged its like 267 an 270 and there are upgrades from there too. Supercharger requires premium gas too.
