I posted this in the toytota section but maybe some one non toyota can help. I just finished installing hysteer on my truck and when i start her up fluid spits out a small hole on the side that looks like it has a ball bearing in it. It does it even more when i turn it Ive got a pic of a similar pump below, any body have any ideas? Do i have a bad pump? any help would be appreciated

oh yeah its an 87 ifs box, if that helps at all

I got a better pic of it off of allpros website, should fluid be coming out of there? I really dotn get it.

No, fluid should not be coming oout around that ball. That ball is a plug that is covering the fluid passaged from when it was drilled.
If you just got the box then take it back and get another one or you can have it brazed shut again.
If you don't want to try either of those you might try taking a punch and pushing the ball in a little more and then use a larger punch or chisel to fold the side in around it.

thanks man, i actually did just that. i ground it down a little and then banged on it with a hammer till it stopped leaking. i think Im going to end up putting a little weld right there to make sure it does leak again
