I was R&R'n my lowe ball joints. I had the ball joint off and the upper assembly loose. The Upper part sung out too far and the inner part of my CV joint popped out. NO caps came off or anything, I just slid it back in place and slipped the boot back on. It all seemed fine. I put a large hose clamp on it to keep the boot on. Is my CV toasted?

Ignore this un-helpful newbie bonehead... <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

As long as you kept dirt/grime from getting in there and didn't lose too much grease, I dont think you hurt anything and it will be fine. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

Hmm... Rocman's profile even says he's a mechanic... sounds to me like he could have answered your question but chose to mock you instead. Wow, he must be really "hardcore." <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/flipoff.gif" border="0">

All IFS newbies must be killed to appease the CAMO GOD.
BTW you did not hurt the cv as long as you keep it clean.

Yup, another BONEHEAD trying to kiss Camo's Butt.

It's not what you have to wheel, it's HOW YOU WHEEL IT!

I must confess, I have a ifs truck, its a
new full size F150. But I was under the
impression this was a hard core weeling site
not a street SUV site. <IMG SRC="smilies/flipoff.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/flipoff.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/flipoff.gif" border="0">

How did you make it to 184 posts without being banned?

No need to be rude to anyone, we all started in the same place. Also, today's enthusiastic newbie is often tomorrow's innovator.

THIS is a hard core wheelin' site...
I also have IFS and have been running hard on it since 1994. One up-grade leads to another and it does get pricey, but its the way I learned to wheel,to use what I have and better it. I have down Clawhammer(piece of cake),wrecking ball(a little unnerving), and the 'con 3 times.
Finally, after all these years wid the 'yota, its time to upgrade to the SAS, As you will learn your trucks limitations, U will see after about 6-8 axle and 2-3 steering arm breakages per year, It gets old. I recently broke to axle halves at once on the 'con, that cured me....
You say you drive a FoRD ? good luck and I hope you got some DEEP pockets...
