OK, I'm ready to build it. Where do I start. Removing the fuel tank and relocating will be a challenge. Body work doesn't seem to be that difficult. What do you think?

Just don't do it to your BB62, that thing is way too sweet to hack.

I got beaters to hack.

Very Kewl. Will you make that a trunk, an open bed, or what? I think I'd make it an open bed with a tonneau cover, and retain the lift gate at the top, putting it right behind the rear seats - you could probably acquire a spare junk tailgate and hack it up and weld it the top of it in at the top of the front of the bed, and then the lift gate will close nicely and be lockable. Keep the stock tailgate in back, of course. Or you could do the Avalanche thing and have two tailgates, front and back. I'd go custom with the fuel tank - have a stainless one made to fit under there to maximize capacity. You'll have to figure out an external electric fuel pump somehow.

If I am reading the picture correctly, this would be a small pickup bed in the rear, right?

If so, you could always get a pimp 20gal fuel cell and put an expanded metal deck over it for storage.
If he does it to the truck with the 502 in it, 20 gallons will get you about 75 miles:flipoff2: :flipoff2:
