Recently a story was posted about a problem with two Toyota 3rd members. A gentleman named ********* believed he recieved the wrong ratio and was very upset, as most people would be. The two 3rd members were received back at Randy's Ring & Pinion and turned out to be 5.29 ratios, the exact ratio Pat orderd.
Sometimes mistakes are made by consumers and by companies selling parts. Everyone's goal is to get the best deal and go "wheeling" but sometimes when problems arise consumers are asked to return parts for inspection. This is not fun for the company and especially not fun for the individual waiting to get his fresh set of bogger's dirty.
If a vehicle is built to be a daily driver, trail rig and ARCA competition rig it's normal for parts to break and problems to come up. When you believe you have recieved wrong parts, send them back. When parts break, send them back. This is the best way to work with your vendors.Even though you may have your rig down and may incur shipping costs your vendors will work with you. Keep receipts and a record of who you talked to for a clear line of communication and your problems will be solved faster.
Randy's Ring & Pinion welcomes and thanks every one for all their comments.

I was wondering how you can tell what size gears you're running without looking at them. Hey I have a question why did you guys not sell here in California until just recently? Just curious.

While it amazes me to the point of disbelief that someone could mess up two different ways of checking the gear ratio in the vehicle, he did admit that he was not mechanically inclined one bit. No excuse though. But what bugs me more is that he is named by Sir Name in a public forum by a vendor, almost as if to make him look bad among his peers. While I don't condone the bashing of a company without a valid reason, I never expect to see a company indirectly bash back. Just not professional.

Just my POV

They sure tried to bash Randy's on this board and besides we all knew who he was talking about but they still shouldn't of named him.

Maybe that will teach cyver wheelers in the future to check themselves before they think they can come on the web and spout off about a company and get away with it.

Because of their ignorance, they caused THOUSANDS of readers to doubt the service and workmanship of Randy's. And that is something they cannot take back!

Again, I say they deserve to be publicly scolded for their attack on Randy's - and I pray every person who read that other thread reads this one so they don't go away thinking Randy's screwed up when it is painfully obvious they DID NOT

LOL, after all that...!!!

I think its good that Randy's came in to set the record straight and stand up for themselves (I didn't see the customer do it for them!). I don't really think that mentioning the customer by name was particularly uncalled for either.

I hope somebody is and learns a few things from all of this.

I should not waste my time to reply to this, as we do not care what anyone of you on this board thinks.
We removed the third members as asked. Before sending the 3rd members back, we had a gear shop check the new 3rds and the old 3rds out, there was an obvious difference between the two sets and Randy's set did not appear to be what we had ordered..
While we had the Randy's gears in our vehicle, like I said before, it did not perform in the way that it should have with the 5:29's ( as it did before with the same drive train set up ). We have since then purchased our 3rd members from west coast Diff, and *POOF* the vehicle is now crawling as it did before any modifications, and when we did the same drive line turn test that Randy's had us do, but with our new gears, the drive line turned 5.29 turns, where randy's gears only turned the drive line 4.1 turns.
Beleive as you wish, we are happy now with our REAL 5:29.
As for Randy's, you have no right to post our REAL PERSONAL FIRST AND LAST NAME on a BB of over 5000 people. Big mistake on your guys part.
