I'm trying to figure out how the intake would fit onto my exsisting intake. I was thinking that I could simple add the cone and have a pipe built from the box to the engine and cut off all the extra pipe. I don't know if this is would work or not? if so, then what would I have to do or should I simply just not think of doing such a thing. Thanks for the advice...CHRIS

i THINK hes talkin about kinda like a "cold air intake".....AIR INTAKE. if you do it dude, make it as high as possible and DONT use an open element. switch places with the battery for the best results

Or you could make a cool one like this guy's setup.
Look under his pics section.
Of course if you don't have a hood scoop like the Highlanders have, you'ed have to rig up something different. But his is up high enough to keep most water out.

You have the basic idea. People do it all the time on all kinds of vehicles. Do a search on this and other boards. I think I remember an article on the ORC Jeep XJ page. Check out the K&N and Turbo City sites, they sell them.

From the guy's site, "The 4 pieces of 3/4" tube equal a total inner diameter of 3". There attached to the hood scoop via a custom fiberglass plenum."

This is so not true. He isn't taking into account friction loss or the bends. One large pipe will flow alot more than 4 small ones. I think his setup is hindering him rahter than helping.
