So my brother-in-law has a 97 TJ with a 4.0/32rh. The torque converter was slipping BAD so we pulled the trans and went ahead and sent it to a transmission shop to have all new seals and all put in it along with a new torque converter. It's got like 230k miles so we figured we should probably do it while it was out. We installed it all and now when he puts it in reverse the oil pressure drops down to nothing, the check gauges light comes on and the motor dies if it don't die it runs like CRAP. It only happens when he puts it in reverse. It's got new oil, plugs, wires, distributor, button, coil, and probably a other misc. tune up stuff in it. Any of you fellas got any idea what could be causing this?

Look for pinched wiring caught where the bellhousing bolts to the engine, also for a chafed wire harness at the rear head bolt stud on the driver's side, they sometimes cut through the insulation of the fuel injection harness, causing a stall in reverse or over bumps, etc.
