i need a transmission that will bolt up to in a 1974 CJ-5 to an amc 258 with dana 20. I would considar different t-case choices. I dont want to fool around with any fab work, I just want to bolt it up and go. Im looking for a transmission with a first gear ratio of >= 4 to 1. Thanks

I have a t-14 with a first of 3.10 It came from a 74 cj5 with 258. I will sell it with bell housing for $50 it worked good when in my jeep.

I thought 74's where 232, is that a stock engine?

I will have T-18 ready to go in a couple weeks with D20, all rebuilt, D20 has 2.46 low range :flipoff2: . Let me know

yeah i think the 258 was stock from 1971-till the 4.0

Let me know about that T-18, are you putting bronco gears in the D20?

I have a T176 that shifts very smoothly- I can include the bell housing if you like. The transfer case is a Dana 300 so I would check to be sure that a D20 will fit. I believe that the first gear ratio is in the high 3's. $150 plus shipping.

Yes, I had originally planned on installing it in my Jeep, but have since decided to put a N4500 in there. I bought the tranny over the summer but haven't had time to get to it. I also bought the rebuild kit for it so it will be rebuilt with zero miles on it.

Are you in a rush for it?

This input shaft on the J2000 truck will be to long, just so you know you will have to either have it resplined or purchase a new one.

I HAVE BELLHOUSING TO GO WITH T 18 THAT WAS BEHIND A 258 I AM NOT SURE IF ITS THE SAME PATTERN AS CJ 258 (I ASSUME) TO GO WITH THE TRANS AND TRANSFER CASE I LISTED EARLIER DO YOUR RESEARCH I DO NOT WANT TO SELL YOU SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT WORK
