So I run into this kid today who tells me the guy at work is selling an old Willys, with a post hole setup, and a grader blade. I know these were pretty rare options on the Willys, but does anyone know whay a rig like this is worth? I 'm thinking it's a restorers dream. How about any resto Jeep sites? Any info guys ?

When I started as a carpenter back in the late 70's these were used to dig piers. I would stay away from buying such a rig. Most were very abused. I remember watching them shake violently while digging. This type of vibration can't be good.

Oh yah. Trenchers were the most popular but I've got one at home that I bet knowbody has heard of. CJ Digger. I don't have the file here so I can't post the pic. You'll just have to wait.

My dad has a couple out in the sheads at the USDA. They haven't been used for years and have around 15K miles each on them. They have all kinds of attatchments like the hole digger, field plows, mowers, sweepers, sprayers, snow plows.... it looks like the gov went all out and bought every attatchment they could for them. He doesn't think they have ever seen any highway miles...they basicly stayed right at the facility.

There is a couple of CJ5s around here that have the augers mounted on the back. I have always seen them up on trailers.
I would imagine they are pretty poor for hill climbing with all that extra weight hanging off the back end. :shaking: :flipoff2:
