I just got a Jeepster Commando and I am going to swap out axles transmission and transfer case. I am looking at getting some JK Rubicon axles to keep cost down and so I dont have to build any axles. I know the commando has passenger drop but with switching the transmission and transfer case I plan on changing that. I plan for the time to keep it on leafs for the time. So I know I would need to cut the mounts from the axles. Will the Rubicon axles work? Has anyone done something similar with a CJ5 or CJ7? Thanks

IIRC, the Commando frame is the same narrow width as a CJ frame. You is gonna have to check that there is room on the axle housing to be able to mount the spring seat on the axle housing if you are going to retain the stock type leaf spring setup. You might need to outboard the springs, or make custom front frame rails that are farther apart, fab up a coil spring front suspension or maybe even track down a used JK frame and modify it to fit under the Commando body
