I wouldnt use it.
If you dont break it, we will only assume you just cant "Get It" as well as Kelly.
If you do break it, you will only be reaffirming what we already know(that they can be broken), and probably at the expense of your axle shafts.
It seems like a lose, lose situation.

In that case - I say run it and see....I'm sure we'd all be very interested in hearing how it compares to the regular...and you're one with the experience to tell.

There could have been some tiny flaw or other reason why the other one broke - trying more will give a better pool of data.

And it's not like it will likely ever be totally unbreakable - so a comparison to the others could prove useful in R&D.

I also wonder if the approach might better be to make an unbreakable axle yoke, rather than U-joint. U-joints are cheap consumable parts, relatively easily changed - the real bitch is they waste expensive axles when they go - but if they didn't....that would be nice.

Not sure it's possible though.

You guys are all gay!!!!!!!! Give me the thing and I'll break it with one of my spicer axles and roach them too. It is worth it to see if it is ANY better than standard. One sample is not a fair test- could've had a defect er somethin'! And (no offense Jess) if an unbreakable joint comes out then it will just be the stub that lets go. Bottom line... Once you change enough inners/outers/ joints it's time for a 60!! Save them pennies and keep resplinin' oems! $20 a pop is better than aftermarket alloys. IMO Anyway... On with the show. <IMG SRC="smilies/usa.gif" border="0">

Just wondering if anyone is using the Warn Axle fuses with the yokes? don't these things pop at like 55,000 lbs or something? maybe they with more than that while having the wheel turned? who knows?

Jess, you might try 8620 and carbeurize them, that way they wouldn't be so brittle. 4320 carbeurized would be even better but I don't think that is a stocked alloy by anyone and would have to be custom rolled.
