Apologies for positing this in the wrong venue, but as discussed in: http://www.pirate4x4.com/ubb/Forum10/HTML/004809.html ...and several other places, the BLM is in the midst of a multiple-month community-based planning project on the South Fork of the American River, including the areas off Jurgens Road.
I've attended most of the meetings, but we really do need more than one guy there in support of motorized recreation, especially as we near the site-by-site planning phase. If anyone wants to weigh in on this issue, they should attend NOW -- or rather, Monday February 12, 2001. Part of this process is establishing 'standing.' If someone pops in for the site-specific planning stage, their opinion counts for less unless they have attended previous meetings and established 'standing.'
If you are serious about attending, the meeting is at the school just uphill of Coloma... please contact me ASAP: [email protected] (hit my work email, too: [email protected]) -- I can offer a ride up the hill from Sacramento or discuss some of the issues so we can present a united front.
Don't come if you want to pitch a fit and start a fight... we need to stay sane and reasonable -- until the site-specific planning, when we can pull out all the stops.
