I have been looking at the terra low 4 to 1 kit for my 94 YJ, but i also was looking at the Klune v extreme underdrive. I have'nt heard any feedback on the klune v (i know) terra low is a tried and true kit. but i think i like the idea of the on and off aspect of the klune v. Anyone use it or know someone who does? <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Klune-V's Rule! Am I prejudiced? Though I sell Klunes now, I should be a terra dealer soon. I just ordered mine. The advantage of the Klune is you still have stock low range. Think sand/snow. The Klune gives more options but costs more.

nice attitude. i think everything has been talked about to an extent. if everyone did searches there would be nothing to talk about. maybe he will catch different advice from someone thats right up his alley. <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

So what, we're being selectively nice to newbies now? This has been covered so much you'd think that a simple search would cover more information you get with a Klune. Here's the skinny since you can't find the search button.

If you have $2200 + $500 for drive shafts Go Kluve. It way kicks ass over the Tera.

If you only have $1200 and don't want to mess with drive shaft issues, go TeraLow, it's better than nothing, but a waste if you ever plan on going slower.

Why not Atlas??? I think that you would be making a valuable upgrade by going Atlas and not worry about driveshaft issues with the Klune...although at a later date you could then go klune and get REALLY low <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/thefinger.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

the disadvantage to a clune v is that your driveshaft will be pretty short by the time ya get it in and in a yj its short already

I havent heard of anyone breaking any Klunes, but if you do you're screwed.. you aint going anywhere. I would still take one over a 4-1 anyday.

i saw one break but i heard it was an oldschool proto type so im sure it wasnt all there

He is correct if you do a search this has come up a bunch of times.

Basicly I will go Klune; When I feel like getting an electric pusher fan.
Removing the stock fan, Moving the engine forward 2 iches, Hooking up a SM420 tranny to my new Dana 300 inverted kit, and then somewere in the middle goes the klune V.

Once all that is done my rear drive shaft will still be the same lenght.

Lots of work. But think about it Twin sticks and klune V in a TJ.. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

It should only cost about $4,000.00 or so.

What ratios does the klune V have? Doing a search I only found 2.7. I plan on using the Atlas 4.3 also has twin stick without having to move the entire drive train forward ot rear axle back. This matched to 5.13 gears (Dana 60 and 14 bolt) should give a nice low crawl ratio. And only around $2000.

The klune, (someone correct me if wrong)
Has 1-1
4-1
11-1 reduction.

Selectable. So you can still get your T case in low range just like you dont have a Klune.
Or you can keep the t case in Hi range and go to 4-1 and be slightly lower than low in your t case or you can go way down and 11-1 and reduce your t case and go nowhere in a hurry. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Will leave ya w/ a pretty short rear d/s. Not a problem for a trail rig, though.

#1. The rason i did'nt do a search is cause i wanted to get the realtime feedback from those who have used it.....recently!!

The big advantages are you get to keep your present low and add extra lows too. The Klune takes the place in most cases of the adapter going between the tranny and T-case. So it is not always as long as it seems. I just ordered a 32 spline output david to go between my 999 and my big in/out 300. Should be killer.
