Looking at the advance adapters page, the NP231 w/ short shaft is 16.3" long (about 20" w/o the short shaft kit) so the KLUNE VOriginally posted by yjtj:
the disadvantage to a clune v is that your driveshaft will be pretty short by the time ya get it in and in a yj its short already
/ATLAS combo is a total of 20.3" long, the KLUNE V/NP231 w/ short shaft combo is 22.8" long. So if you choose to go 231 short shaft/klune v combo it isn't going to shorten the driveline too much (2.5" to 3" difference in total length.) If you have the money to go ATLAS Klune V the length difference is 0" to .5". If any of this is incorrect let me know because I don't see much problem in driveline length if you ue a high angle drive line.
The info used:
NP231 stock - 19.8" to 20.3"
NP231 w/ AA short shaft - 16.3"
ATLAS - 13.8"
Klune V - 6.5"
