I have the trunnion bearing eliminator kit with the wiper seal uprade. I just got done building a new housing and was wondering when measuring the knuckle pull, do i take the reading with the wiperseal backing plates off? Trail gear was not very specific but the measurements with the backing plates off is about 8 lbs. With the backing plates installed brings it up to 35 lbs. I know the specs are 15-25 and i have stacked a crapload of shims trying to bring the pull down.

Take the wiper seal and backing plates off and of course check the pull with an empty knuckle...then remove some shims to get to the number tg recommend s for the trunion elims
