I want to do a custom crossover steering setup on my '98 Ram, and wondered if anyone has done it or seen it. I was thinking of swapping the stock knuckles to the Dana 44 Flat Top style, but don't know what that would affect in terms of mounting my brakes and all that (haven't really looked into it yet). I was thinking of using spherical rod ends and going with a seperate tie rod on top of the knuckle, and also a drag link going straight from the steering gear to the passenger side knuckle. What do you guys think? Should I just keep the stock knuckles, and come up with a mounting plate on that for the tie rod and drag link? Any ideas?

The ball joints go the wrong way, so you would need to swap the inner "C" as well.

You can simply drill out the existing holes and build a setup. Several folks on my site have done that.

I used the big GM TREs though, so my tie rod is still on the underside of the arm though.
