I'm wanting to install 79-88 rear springs on the front of my 85 4runner. I was curios how much lift I would get if I used an aal and a 3 inch longer than stock shackle. I was also wondering what other mods I would have to do. Shock towers? Steering?
If you have no idea as to the answers to all these questions, I'd say stick to the basic bolt-on lift kits for now until you learn a lot more about your truck and how to modify it, why those modifications are wanted/needed, and the possible pros/cons of each mod.
Suspension, steering and shocks are all pretty broad subjects on their own. You'll probably get a better response to very specific questions instead opening this big can of worms.
Learn to use the search feature at the top of the page and do lots of research there too.
Good luck!
do a search. screw buying a lift. that's stupid in my opinion. use the fronts up front and some chevy's in the rear. do a search on them. its the button on top. there is a lot of info on lifts out there. you'll get way better flex and ride doing this conversion.
