Well I've been saving up some money for the arb's but it just isnt coming fast enough. What I need to know is if the arb replaces the whole carrier ? If it does Ill just weld up the ones Ive got and get me some real 4wd! One other question do you guys weld the spider gears to each other or to the carrier or dose it matter? whats best ?

Thanks CJ

I'd at least go with a spool. If a weld fails, there go the R&P. I have a welded carrier that you can try out if you'd like? Where's Lampe, MO? Nevermind I found it on Yahoo.. I may be in Springfield Saturday if you want to meet up and give it a whirl? I do want it back just in case I should ever need it.

Thanks for the offer! I was just wanting to do somthing simple that didnt cost me any money. It would just be a temp. fix till I ge the arb's. Lampe is about 15 mi. from the Ark. boarder not far from branson. We're making a run to disney,OK this weekend always lookin for more people to wheel with.
Should only be 4-5 hour drive from KC?

The ARB will replace the entire carrier so you can weld up everything but the ring and pinion.

My question is, if you are willing to drive around with a welded diff now, why are you going to get the fancy ARB later? why dont you save some money and get detriots, no spins, lock rights, or something like that since money seems to be tight? All of those would be better than a welded diff in my opinion.

True those would save me some money but my thought was that if I can turn the front locker on and off as I need it, It should cut down on breakage (birf's)

Thanks for the offer, and I'd love to, but I have 5.29's in the rear and 4.88's up front!! Just switched them out cuz I sold the rear third this week!! If I could 2WD it, I'd go Just my luck too!! FARK!! Take pics please, is it as good or similar to Clayton? Just curious
