ive been contemplating converting my Pro tools 105HD to hydro and was beginning to plan my layout when i remembered on a monster garage episode where they used a linear ram to run a few accessories on their project. i was wondering if anyone has ever tried using one of these to run a bender. it seems like it would cut out alot of equipment and weight etc. any thoughts?

You mean those electric ones they are so fond of? I doubt they have enough force, I think they said on the show that they can lift 300 pounds or so. Seems like the bender, without the cheater bar, would need more force than that.

I guess you could try to bend without the bar or with a really short bar and see if you think it's more or less than 300 pounds.

You mean linear ACTUATOR. A "Ram" is a hydraulic ram, or cylinder. They're in completely different categories as far as strength goes.
