OPP's-Search DON'T freakin' work

ok- IMHO don't spend the money on synthetics, under hard trail use, the real key is to keep the oil clean and fresh. Run 80w/90 and change it frequently. If ya wanna run a "friction modifier" try Mories or Lucas oil stabilizer. They increase the "creep" and lubricity dramaticaly. Mories is used by the Hurst Hemi Under Glass Wheel Standing Funny Car at 100% to reduce bearing walk in the housing when using 1100bhp and turning brakes at 120mph/10sec quarter mile. Bob Riggle was burning up two housings a year till he went to 100% Mories. It also works in tranny's and transfer cases to reduce temp's. Cost is cheap, $20.00 a gallon. I'm running 50% Mories to 50% 80w/90 in all the boxes during the summer months. will go to a 30/70 mix durning the winter-

While I'm sure everyone has an opinion, my favorite is either Redline 80W-140 or Mobile Synthetic in 85W-140 (I think that is the weight range). That reminds me - time to change the "vital fluids" in my Cruiser

Several people have recommended (and I've had good luck with it) widening your search to include ALL forums, as they were able to make it work like this - but it would time out for them when searching just the Yota board.

Of course, you'll have to make sure to take the advice of only the Yota guys, since no one else knows what they're talking about...

Test your own answers before spitting out this generic reply! Nice try, though!

still having no luck with the search function. can only get it to work in the Fraud Talk (aka Ford talk) area, so any help is appreciated. if you - (crawler#976?) can do a search and post the link, that'll work too. thanks

Oh, I run Amsoil synthetic in all of my stuff. But, then again, I have a welded rear, so there aren't any locker-related specifics to deal with.

Brandon makes a good point, if you are having to replace the fluids often, Redline is pricy. It's fine if you leave it in for years like I do

I use 80/90 by the gallon. I think its Valvoline. I change it frequently because the gears are new and I haven't installed exended diff breathers yet. Once I "break-in" the gears and install the breathers I'll be using Redline shockproof. BTW, I have detroits and 5.29s.

Anybody know a site for mories. I just wanna read up a little and find a place to buy it around here. I want to get some of that or lucas to put in my tranny and t-cases to keep temps down.

thanks for the feedback. I'm currently running Mobil 1, 75w-90 in the rear (detroit), but have a feeling it might be too thin... I have the cheap 80w-90, by-the-gallon, stuff to go into the front, but once the bank account recovers from the other mods, I'll be going Redline. I'm also running extended diff breathers front and rear.
