Was wondering if any of you know anyone that is selling a Kaymar rear bumper or something else interesting in the CA or southwest area of the grand ole US of A. I've been building my FJ 60 with used parts etc, kinda on the cheap just to see how nice of a rig I can come up with the least capital invested. Thought I might be able to find something here to continue the tradition. Thanks guys.:D

I have built some protective gear for my FJ60 but have no way to post any photos. If anyone would be interested in helping I can send photos if you could post them.

Also any info regarding what to use or where to get the latchs and spindles for those nice swing outs would be apreciated.

please contact me [email protected]

I used to have the birf setup on a previous custom bumper, it was nice but HEAVY, and overkill IMHO. THe current one uses a machined spindle with an oild-impregnated brass bushing sitting inside the swingout, and it works great, it's stiff enough when it swings that it can be held open in any position (even with the truck off camber), and I've had two hefty guys standing on the open swingout without any adverse effect.

I've also seen a lot of bumpers that use a 3,500 lb. generic trailer spindle, much smaller than a Birfield joint but also includes sealed bearings and operates smoothly.

Several fabrication places sell weld-on bumper pivots, off the top of my head I can't remember exactly but I'd check Rockstomper, Rockbuggysupply, Budbuilt and Sleeoffroad, one of those *definitely* sells one.
