As you can see, there's nuth'n to it. Square u bolts and a spring plate are all that's used. I can push this sucker all the way up for a buggy, or leave it where it is for a solid mount. It works too. No need to use up a bunch of time with calculations and worry about having to re-do welded eyes. No slippage or breakage yet.

Now that is the way to dial in shakle angles on custom settups. If nothing else slap that together till you get the angle right and then make it permanent.

Forgive me for being stupid, but do spring plates go by any other name? I can't quite recognize what it is and I'd like to use that.

Thanks fella's. Sorry the pics are small, but I suck at this 'compuder thang'.

It's a stock YJ spring plate. YJ (and many others) springs are 2.5" wide. Just so happens that the frame rail is also 2.5" wide (lucky me ). So all ya do is get yourself a sturdy main leaf. Cut it to length (whatever will clear) leaving the shackle eye and sandwich that sucker between the spring plate and frame rail. Simple.

Adjustability is great. AS springs sag, you can simply loosten, smack it with a hammer and get the shackle angle you want. Like I said, it's holding up perfect. No breakage yet.

is that what you were up to this weekend?

cool idea to not bolt the buggy leaf to the frame through the centerpin, and leave it adjustable.
