I spent some time on the CNC , The iner rings are 1/4 mild and the outer rings are 3/4 aluminum with a hard anodized coating.

no maching pics, never had my camera when i was at the shop......

how did you hold such a wide and thin piece in the CNC?


For the inside ring I laid the plate on two aluminum bars, The bars were bolted to the bed, clamped the out side of the plate to the bars then cut out the middle, then the programed stoped for a tool change, i then added clamps to the inside and removed the out side clamps and finished the cuts.

Man, good job looks great!:smokin:

Now just take em back apart and repaint/refinish your black steelies so the combo doesnt look like 22's on some janky... brown.... oldsmobile cutlass!:flipoff2:

Edit: well i thought the wheels were black, but looked back to find out that they were originally chrome...whoooodah thunk it!?

That was the idea, when you start with a 3/4" plate, and they are not cheep, you tend to want to leave as much material as possible, if i was going to hog it all out to look like every thing else out there I would have just bought them from a retailer.

Every one thanks for the great comments!!

Crash it is cool to have access to the tools to do this kind of work and as every one know on this site, some times trying to be creative leads to some intresting stuff.
