I got some 3-1/2 Black diamond leaf springs that are kinda s-shaped from many years of abuse,If I use a leaf or to and add them to the stock YJ leafs do you think I can acheave a 2.5 inch spring?Can this be done to a stock pack? I want to run 37-38's on my YJ? I want to get a good amount of lift on my YJ without saggin or having to buy more lift springs.. thanks guys.. <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0">

Ive been mixin and matchin springs from different leaf packs for years. Just add and substract as needed. Using military wrap or at least long springs(out to the eyes), for the 1st and 2nd springs after the main spring, helps avoid axle wrap,(but makes compression a little stiff). Build your leaf spring retainers, so that the springs can fan out in the leaf, I use a piece of 1"x 3/16" steel bent up and around the springs, but extending past the springs by about an 1" or more, then retained with a piece of steel tubing with a nut and bolt, running through it.

****** on this board jsut did a soa on his 92 with 3 1/2 superlift leafs to clear 35 boggers. At full articulation his tires just barly touch the finder flares. For 37/38 your going to need more lift than a 3 1/2. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I have 3 1/2" superlift springs with the shocks mounted in the stock location in a soa and my 33" tires go into the fenders nicely. I have cut the fenders also and put on tj flares. Oh it is a 94 YJ
