hello everyone
for my rig, wich has toyota land cruiser axles, i`m looking to replace the drum brakes for disc brakes (at least on the front) and have foun this kit from man a fre,

http://www.man-a-fre.com/parts_accessories/brakes.htm

does anyone have any advice about it?
is it as good as it says?
has anyone ever installed one set?

any feed back available?

thanks for your time

I had one on my 72 FJ40. Worked fantastic - stopped the truck cold. Very easy install and very solid.

But..... it still uses the old coarse spline birfields which are much smaller than the later model birfields

So I went to a disk brake axle but also thought about a minitruck conversion.

see: www.ih8mud.com (technical section) for complete writeups on disk brake conversions.

$750

just look around ih8mud.com for the minitruck brake swap info... FAR cheaper... in fact, you could do the GM rear conversion AND the front dic conversion for less than the Man-it-ain't-free setup!

You've got a CJ7 with TLC running gear?

Anyway, the mini (hilux) disc brake conversion is a good option IMO.

The mini truck conversion is the way to go. I did this with the knuckles and biefields of an 85 mini and used fj-60 vented rotors and 92' mini truck v6 calipers. Works great!

You can either link them if they are hosted elsewhere using { tags or you can buy a RED STAR (see top message) or you can send them to me and I will post them for you.
