This might seem like a strange question, but bear with me,

Can I use one of those home breathing oxygen concentrator / compressor machines to fill standard o2 bottles like you'd have in an oxy/gas torch setup? The concentrator is a pretty sizeable home unit with about a 4' tall bottle on it, looks like a standard fitting but I didn't have one of my torch tanks around or a reg to compare to.

Has anyone done this before? Will me trying this result in some kind of event worthy of lawn chairs and PBR?

IIRC, the flow rates are stupidly low as well. It would take ages to generate enough to fill a tank. might be able to generate enough to burn for a minute or two, but I wouldn't expect it to do much more than that.

But, it's been 15 years since my mother was on one so I've forgotten a lot.

Oxygen concentrators with boost pumps exist, and you could adapt them to fill larger cylinders or use medical cylinders instead. It will take some searching to find a used one, but they are available via the internet. Search "used oxygen concentrators" and similar.

You can adapt medical cylinders for cutting torch use:

Direct setup for light gas brazing or welding with tip info:

kickass, thanks!

Maybe I should have been clearer since some seem to have missed that I do have one of these machines and it does have a large high pressure bottle on it. Now we just gotta wait for granny to fall asleep in her chair in front of the TV for a while so we can hijack the thing...

Relax I was just joking, she's already dead otherwise we wouldn't be trying to figure out WTF to do with this thing.
Usually those machines are not owned but instead rented from a medical supply place. My father had one. Easily refilled the smaller bottles. It was returned when it was no longer needed. I would make sure it's not rented before all your plans are wasted.
